About me
Dr Eleftheria Fasoulaki CPsychol– BPS Chartered Counselling Psychologist | Accredited CBT Therapist | Senior Perinatal Psychological Therapist (HCPC and BABCP accredited)
Taking the step to start therapy can feel daunting, but it is also an invitation to growth, self-reflection, and meaningful change. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by emotions, caught in unhelpful patterns, or navigating a major life transition, therapy can offer a collaborative and supportive space to make sense of your experiences and move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with extensive experience across the NHS, the charity sector, and private practice. I have supported individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including complex trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, relationship challenges, and adjustment difficulties.
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing on a range of evidence-based models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, systemic approaches, and attachment theory. At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to understanding the patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that may be contributing to distress, while helping clients build self-awareness, emotional resilience, and self-compassion. I believe that therapy is not just about symptom reduction, but about fostering curiosity, connection, and the capacity to live with greater freedom and authenticity.
From a relational and contemporary psychoanalytic perspective, I believe that healing happens in the context of relationship — where previously unspoken parts of the self can be recognised, held, and thought about together. I see therapy as a space where clients can explore their inner world, not in isolation, but with another mind present. It is a privilege to witness people come to understand the patterns that have shaped them and begin to relate to themselves and others in new, more compassionate ways.
Alongside my broader clinical work, I have a specialist interest in perinatal mental health and the unique challenges that arise during the transition to parenthood. I work with parents, co-parents, and families as they navigate the emotional and psychological changes that pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood can bring. This period can surface complex feelings, past experiences, and shifts in identity and relationships. I offer a reflective therapeutic space to support individuals and families in managing perinatal mental health difficulties, strengthening relationships, and fostering secure parent-infant bonds.
I currently work as a Senior Perinatal Psychological Therapist in a London NHS service, providing integrative psychological support to parents and infants. My work is grounded in an understanding of early attachment, the emotional demands of caregiving, and the dynamics of the parent-infant relationship. I have a particular clinical and research interest in fathers’ perinatal mental health and have led the development of NHS services to better recognise and respond to the psychological needs of perinatal fathers.
In addition to my clinical work, I have been a guest lecturer at University College London (UCL), delivering teaching on perinatal mental health in primary care. I am also highly skilled in clinical assessment and formulation, ensuring that every therapeutic journey is guided by a thoughtful understanding of each person’s experiences and goals.
If you are considering therapy, I welcome you to get in touch. Whether you are facing a difficult life period, struggling with emotional wellbeing, or exploring the complexities of identity and relationship, therapy can offer a meaningful space for healing, growth, and self-discovery. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, and invite you to contact me for a free and confidential 15-minute telephone consultation to explore what you’re looking for from this process.
