About me

Hello, my name is Ellie, and I'm a CBT therapist. If you've stumbled on this message, I can only imagine that you're going through a really difficult time. Perhaps you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed or just not quite like yourself and find it hard to imagine a way forward.

I understand that it can be challenging to break free from patterns of negative thinking and behaviour, and that's where cognitive behavioural therapy can be incredibly helpful. Sometimes we may get stuck in these patterns, and it can feel like we're tangled up in knots that we can't seem to untie.

But that's where I come in. As a cognitive behavioural therapist, I'm trained to help you identify those knots and work through them. Together we can explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviours contributing to your depression and anxiety and find ways to replace them with healthier, more compassionate alternatives.

I've witnessed firsthand the incredible progress that clients can make when they learn to recognise and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthy coping mechanisms and take small steps towards their goals. No matter what you're dealing with, it's possible to feel better.

I know that it can be intimidating to seek help and talk about your struggles. I've been there too! Please know that you're not alone, and I'm here to offer my support and guidance. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma or feeling unfulfilled and stuck in life, I'm here to listen, make sense of your difficulties and walk with you whilst you forge your new path.

I genuinely care about your well-being and aim to help you feel comfortable and understood. Finding a therapist you can connect with is essential, so if you're interested in having a free, friendly chat to see how we could work together, please don't hesitate to reach out.

"There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn't." - John Green

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
