About me
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I offer both brief and long-term therapy for individuals and couples.
When we are going through a difficult time, being able to make sense of our experience, to feel heard and accepted in it, can bring clarity and relief.
Therapy can unlock deep insight into ourselves and our struggles, enabling us to heal, grow and envisage new possibilities.
I offer a warm, supportive space to explore and work through whatever is on your mind, compassionately and with self-respect.
My approach
Some emotional states can be difficult. And yet I believe that, if explored in a non-judgmental and caring way, they can release important learning about ourselves. They may point to entrenched ways of being that no longer serve us or beliefs that burden us in some way. Emotional pain can sometimes be a messenger that comes to highlight needs we have neglected or forgotten parts of our self. In the process of therapy we can consider opportunities for positive change in relation to the difficulties that you’re wishing to explore, as well as anything you may need to heal and release from the past.
What I offer you in this process may vary depending on the stage of therapy and what you uniquely need from the therapeutic work and relationship. I may use questions or share observations that allow you to access deeper layers of awareness, work with you on possible interpretations and meanings, be a safe partner to trial new practices and behaviours with. Ultimately, my aim is to help you get a better sense of the nature and root cause of any difficulties, begin to envisage a resolution and have a caring space from which to work towards the outcome you hope for.
I find that using therapy in this way – to deepen our understanding of ourselves, bring more self-respect and awareness into our feelings, choices and actions – can open up new possibilities that enable us to live and be with others in a more fulfilling and authentic way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Master's degree in Psychotherapy.
I have experience across diverse clinical settings including a Complex Trauma & PTSD service in the NHS and the mental health organisation Mind. Following further training in early developmental trauma, I practice in a trauma-informed way with attention to the body.
In my private practice I work with various difficulties including anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I have a strong interest in working with the impact of formative and adverse childhood experiences on our sense of self and relationships. This may manifest as a sense of empty or unstable self, difficulties with emotional attachment in relationships or various anxieties in relation to intimacy.
Alongside my therapy practice, I am a Teaching Assistant on a Master's training programme for psychotherapists at Metanoia Institute.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
