About me
I am a qualified psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I offer both brief and long-term therapy for individuals, couples and groups in East London.
When we are going through a difficult time, being able to make sense of our experience, to feel heard and accepted in it, can bring clarity and relief. Therapy can open up deep insight into ourselves and our struggles, enabling us to heal, grow and envisage new possibilities.
You may be looking to address a specific difficulty or just a general feeling that you are not satisfied with your life and relationships. I offer a safe and supportive space in which we can explore whatever is on your mind as I help you to unpack your feelings and thoughts.
My approach
Some emotional states can be difficult. And yet I believe that they can sometimes contain important learning about ourselves. They may point to entrenched ways of being that no longer serve us, or highlight forgotten and neglected parts of our self. In the process of therapy, we can consider opportunities for positive change and growth in relation to the difficulties that you’re wishing to explore, as well as any unfinished healing from the past that may need to take place.
As a relational therapist, I am particularly interested in how early relationships shape our sense of self and the ways in which we relate with others and ourselves in our adult lives. I pay attention to the stories that we tell ourselves about our self, our role in relationships and our place in the world. Together, we can explore such narratives in relation to the issues that bring you to therapy.
I find that using therapy in this way – to deepen our understanding of ourselves, bring more self-respect and awareness into our feelings, choices and actions – can open up new possibilities that enable us to live and be with others in a more fulfilling and authentic way.
My working model Transactional Analysis offers a useful framework to explore any challenges that you may be facing, with empathy and self-respect. It is particularly helpful for those wishing to understand areas of difficulty that keep re-emerging and find a way to break unhelpful patterns that may be holding you back.
Workshops
In addition to working with individuals and couples, I also run a recurring two-day workshop over the course of a weekend, which offers a warm and supportive setting to get to know our relational patterns and trial new ways of being with others:

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
