About me

Welcome. Do you find that you are not enjoying life like you used to? Do you have an idea of what the reasons may be but don't know where to start to think about them? Do you feel overwhelmed at times and find it difficult to cope with the challenges of life today? I help people who are finding it difficult to balance work, relationships and family especially during these challenging times. There are many reasons why we need to reach out for help during times of confusion and pain and you do not have to face them alone.

I believe the relationship between client and counsellor is the key to the success of therapy. Together we can explore your thoughts and emotions and pave the way to beginning to understand where these feelings and behaviours may be coming from and how to address them, leaving you feeling more empowered to deal with the day to day.

I provide a supportive, non-judgmental and confidential space in which you can explore all of these thoughts and feelings. Working together I can support you whilst you discover what some of the root causes of these overwhelming inner emotions may be, and help you to move forward to lead a more rewarding, balanced and fulfilling life that you deserve.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully trained and experienced Psychotherapeutic (Psychodynamic) Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) My initial qualification is based on a psychodynamic approach to therapy,  however I do draw on other modalities depending on the presenting needs of the individual.

I provide both long term and short term counselling from my office in central Chichester. The practice offers a safe and confidential space and is located conveniently for parking as well as train and bus routes.

Please get in touch to arrange an initial appointment where we can discuss your specific hopes and needs from the counselling process and answer any questions you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
