About me

We all need help from time to time as it can be hard when you are struggling with issues in life and with stressful situations. You might be feeling anxious, confused, stuck or even overwhelmed and unable to tackle life's challenges on your own.

Could you benefit from a place to take some time-out?

-To explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential setting?

-To learn more about yourself and take steps to more fulfilment in your life?

I'm a fully qualified, BACP registered and experienced Humanistic counsellor practising in Cheltenham and West London.

I offer non-judgemental, supportive and understanding counselling, provided in a safe space, where you can explore and express what is troubling you. I am a warm and empathetic counsellor, working with a broad range of issues. I am committed to helping my clients make sense of and work through their difficulties to make changes that are important to them and ultimately to discover ways to enhance their life and to live it more fully.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and I hold a BSc (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling with a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute, Ealing, London..

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I work in accordance to their ethical framework. I am professionally supervised by a qualified supervisor as part of my commitment to ethical practice.

I am a member of the Metanoia Institute professional association.

As well as my own practice, I work as a counsellor for Bereft Bereavement support in  West London  supporting people and working through the process of mourning and grief, ensuring emotional and physical wellbeing .

Previously I have worked for the Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS) in Ealing, where I supported people with a variety of issues, their mental health and wellbeing.

I have always gained a deep satisfaction working with people and I worked in retail training and management until I set up my own interior design business 10 years ago. Through this work with people on a one-to-one basis I became particularly interested in the need to have an understanding of individuals, their underlying issues, stresses and confusions and this underpinned my decision to train as a counsellor.

I am experienced in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with :

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have a personal interest in working with bereavement and loss although my practice is not limited to this.

Bereavement is the natural and painful process of grieving that follows the loss of a loved one. It affects people on every level: emotional, spiritual and physical.

The recovery and healing process is unique to each individual as is the time it takes to heal. I can help you explore your loss and start adjusting to your changed future.
I have worked with clients who have lost someone close to them; who have experienced a suicide in the family; who have suffered sudden trauma and loss.

Further information

As a Humanistic counsellor the philosophy underpinning my work incorporates ideas and theories from various inspirational psychologists.
I place the relationship between myself and client at the heart of my ethical and effective humanistic practice, as this in its self is a powerful healing tool.

I will hold a space in which it is safe to open up difficult topics for you. I see my approach as empathic, creative and without judgement and with an intent to understand your challenges and issues.

I am here to support and work with you, so you can feel more secure and content and find the path that is right for you in your life.

I offer open-ended counselling, which may only last a few sessions, some months or possibly years, depending on how long you are able to or wish to commit to the process.
