About me

No-one knows exactly what it is like to be you, which is why in our sessions, you will be treated as the expert as I support you in discovering your own abilities and autonomy. By treating you with warmth, empathy, and respect I create a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can talk openly about any issues that are troubling you. You will be supported in finding solutions that work best for you so that you feel more able to tackle current and future problems.

My experience

I have many years’ experience working with children and adults helping them with a wide range of issues both in the voluntary sector of Mind and Cruse and as part of a community agency in Bedford. I have also worked with new families as they transition into parenthood. I bring a wealth of life experience as well as a range of training. I am warm, approachable, and most importantly easy to talk to. Clients feel safe and heard in our work together.

What Kind Of Counselling Do I Offer?

I am trained in Person Centered Counselling and use this as my core approach.  This approach puts you at the heart of the work and I aim to find out what life is like for you and how you've made sense of your life experiences so far. By talking things through it's amazing how much lighter and understood you will feel.

I offer face to face Counselling via the therapy rooms at The Happy Body Project (West Park Farm, Wilstead Hill, Bedford, Bedfordshire MK45 3RD) or we can meeting online via Zoom if you prefer.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
