About me

I am a fully qualified,  person-centred Therapist  (BA Hons). I am trained and employed by the charity Relate as a relationship counsellor. I also work as a therapist on Employment Assistant Programmes.

Your Therapy Sessions

Counselling sessions are led by you, so that you never feel pressurised to talk about issues until you feel ready. I will give you a safe space to talk and I will not judge you. I will try and help you make sense of things and understand yourself better. I can help you resolve complicated feelings or find ways to live with them. I can recognise unhelpful patterns in the way you think or act and help you change them if you want to.

Relationship counselling

Relationship counselling offers you a safe space to explore and discuss the root of your problems. Both of you will have a chance to speak and be heard. For some it can transform their relationships and lives. For others it can help with a smaller problem before it leads to a crisis. Many of my clients tell me they wished they had come to see me earlier.

Testimonies

“I felt you were straight-talking but also very sensitive to our very different personalities and really wanted to help us as much as individuals as well as a couple.”

“it played a valuable part in helping me with the decision and also be a bit better in being more honest with myself going forward”

“Thank you very much for your understanding and expertise over the past few months. We came to you as a last resort as we careered towards an inevitable separation - something we still want to avoid.

Your message is clear: We need to reach an accommodation to create an atmosphere in which both we and the children can thrive”

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
