About me
Introduction
Hello, I’m Craig. I’m a qualified and accredited counsellor/psychotherapist specialising in:
- Eating disorders
- Body image issues
- Existential issues
Please see below for more details about my three areas of focus.
Eating Disorders
I can help if: thoughts about food rule your life, you’re sick of feeling out of control, or you feel like no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to move forward/sustain change. I have personally recovered from an eating disorder and body dysmorphia so understand the importance of getting the right support to overcome your food issues, improve your body image, and live a rich, meaningful life. This includes helping with other things that might be getting in the way such as anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, stress, and grief.
I can work with you if you have anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder, orthorexia, OSFED, or if you've had no diagnosis.
Body Dysmorphia
Body image issues can affect anyone regardless of gender, age, weight, or body shape. People often delay or avoid seeking help due to a variety of reasons including shame, stigma, and lack of awareness about the support available. As an integrative therapist, I can work with you to improve your body image and associated issues that often go alongside it (such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and exercise addiction). This includes body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) or muscle dysmorphia (MD).
Treatment involves drawing upon a range of therapeutic interventions to help create meaningful psychological change and support you to live a life of meaning and purpose.
Existential Issues
Discovering meaning and purpose is the key to overcoming challenges, improving your mental health, and living a rich, fulfilling life. You may be struggling to know what to do with your life, your place in the world, or what your purpose is. These existential issues can vary massively; they may be mild, such as a sense of feeling lost or out of place, or they may be severe, completely overwhelming you and keeping you stuck.
Specific issues I can support with include: grief, loss, anxiety, depression, identity, life transitions, stress/burnout, and spirituality.
Online Counselling and Psychotherapy
Online counselling and psychotherapy offers you the opportunity to work through these issues, gain insights, develops skills, and discover inner resources to overcome the challenges you are facing.
As a counsellor/psychotherapist with 18 years’ experience in behaviour change and mental health services, over a decade of Buddhist meditation/mindfulness practice, and who has done further training to specialise in eating disorders, I can support you to: recover from disordered eating, overcome body dysmorphia (including muscle dysmorphia), and help you find meaning/purpose in life
