About me

How can I help? Are you longing for change or dreading it?

It can be hard to reach out for help and to take time for you but therapy is a space to explore what is dominating your thoughts or keeping you awake at night. Working at your pace, I can help you gain a greater sense of clarity about the things that are holding you back, and help you to explore the change you need.

I am a warm, highly engaged, and calm therapist, known for tackling the difficult conversations others shy away from. I believe that therapy can help you gain a greater understanding of your story and bring a change in your perspective so that you can  be more at ease with yourself.  I will help you as you put into practice what you learn in therapy, and  won't judge you for getting it wrong.

Counselling works best when you find a counsellor who understands your story, someone who makes you feel seen and safe. Since research shows that the relationship we form is the biggest determinant of effective therapy, I offer an initial 30 minute call, free of charge, to help you decide whether I am the right person for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

As an integrative therapist, (FdSc Counselling (Greenwich)), I tailor my approach to you, seeking to provide a safe, trusting, collaborative relationship as the foundation for exploring the change you need.

I work as a Counsellor in a local hospice.

After my first degree I practised as a lawyer before qualifying as a Counsellor in later life. I have an interest in supporting those in the legal profession who are struggling with stress and those going through proceedings.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
