About me
I work with individuals to identify the underlying patterns shaping their lives, often outside conscious awareness.
Drawing on an integrative framework that includes psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking, Internal Family Systems (parts work), Jungian perspectives, CBT-informed behavioural restructuring, hypnotherapy, and trauma-focused approaches, I am able to rapidly detect the structures driving anxiety, stagnation, or repeated life difficulties.
My approach is direct, perceptive, and highly integrative. Rather than applying a single method, I assess each individual as a system and determine what is actually required; whether that is uncovering hidden memory, identifying internal conflicts, processing trauma, or restructuring behavioural patterns.
Clients tend to come to me when something has remained unresolved; often despite insight, effort, or prior therapy.
They can sense it.
They just cannot locate it.
I locate it.
Using this approach, I identify the patterns shaping behaviour, relationships, and emotional experience; often within a single session. I look for points of conflict, fragmentation, dissociation, or blockage, including dynamics that may present as anxiety, depression, loss of direction, or a persistent sense of unreality or disconnection.
From there, the work becomes precise. This may involve parts work, trauma processing, behavioural restructuring, or uncovering deeper psychological dynamics that have remained outside awareness.
I do not offer generic therapy.
I work with what is actually there.
I work with individuals who: have reached a point where surface-level approaches are no longer sufficient and who notice repeated patterns they cannot fully explain or shift; experience anxiety, depression, or confusion that feels disproportionate or unresolved
feel fragmented, disconnected, or not entirely themselves
are seeking clarity, depth, and accuracy rather than reassurance
This work is not for everyone.
It is for those who want to understand what is actually driving their experience; and change it at that level.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered psychotherapist with the BCAP and have studied psychological and therapeutic approaches for over 30 years, including psychodynamic therapy, trauma work, Internal Family Systems, and integrative methods focused on meaningful change.
My interest in this field began through personal experience, seeking to understand and resolve trauma where conventional approaches proved limited. This led me to develop an approach that prioritises precision, depth, and effectiveness.
I am also a Sunday Times Best-Selling author with Hodder & Stoughton. My research and study has appeared with my byline; in the Daily Mail and The Sunday Times. I have spoken on the BBC and BBC World Service on trauma and psychological insight.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Alongside more traditional therapeutic work, I also offer deeper approaches for those who feel that standard talking therapy has not reached what is actually driving their experience.
This can include parts-based work (similar to Internal Family Systems), as well as more experiential approaches such as guided imagery, symbolic work, and, where appropriate, practices often described as soul retrieval or past life exploration.
I also work with what some clients experience as “blocked” or held energy within the body or system, helping to release and integrate this in a way that feels grounded and manageable.
These approaches are always led by the individual and used carefully within a psychological framework, with the aim of increasing clarity, stability, and a stronger sense of self.

Further information
I work with individuals who:
have reached a point where surface-level approaches are no longer sufficient
notice repeated patterns they cannot fully explain or shift
experience anxiety, depression, or confusion that feels disproportionate or unresolved
feel fragmented, disconnected, or not entirely themselves
are seeking clarity, depth, and accuracy rather than reassurance
This work is not for everyone.
It is for those who want to understand what is actually driving their experience and change it at that level.
In the first session, I listen carefully to how you describe your life and experiences.
From this, I begin identifying patterns, inconsistencies, and underlying structures that may not yet be visible. Clients often find that key themes emerge quickly, bringing a level of clarity they have not previously reached.
From there, we decide how to proceed, using the most appropriate approach for your specific system.
This is a focused and active way of working, designed to create real movement; not just insight.
Many clients come to this work after feeling that traditional therapy has not quite reached what is actually driving their experience.
