About me

As an Integrative Counsellor, I provide a service that combines several therapeutic practices, all aimed towards helping you feel whole again.

In recent years, my work has focused strongly on addiction, trauma and issues around sex and sexuality. I also have a particular focus on identity, self-worth and boundaries. We are what we think and what we think governs how we feel - our beliefs shape our reality.

My role is to help you process and integrate whatever it is you are struggling with, supporting you on your journey to improved mental and emotional wellbeing.

I have experience working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, identity issues, relationships, sexuality, men's issues, loss, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, suicide ideation, self-harm and PTSD.

I have worked with people who identify as - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Non-binary. In addition, I have experience working with issues such as discrimination, coming out, identity, acceptance, self-image and self-acceptance.

If you have any questions that are specific to your situation, I would be happy to discuss these with you in order for us to establish whether I am the right counsellor for you.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), offering counselling and psychotherapy at counselling rooms in the centre of Manchester or outdoors in nature.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Therapy Outdoors

It has been scientifically proven that nature has a healing effect on the mind and body.

As an experienced counsellor, I'll work alongside you to seamlessly blend traditional therapeutic techniques with the nurturing environment of the outdoors. Together, we'll explore the natural world as a metaphor for your life's challenges and triumphs, fostering deep self-awareness and personal growth.

Nature's rhythm naturally encourages mindfulness, allowing you to be present in the moment and gain clarity on your thoughts and feelings. The calming effects of fresh air and sunlight reduce stress and anxiety, while the physicality of outdoor movement can release endorphins, boosting your mood and overall well-being.

By integrating the power of nature with therapeutic expertise, outdoor counselling provides a holistic approach that rejuvenates your mind, body and spirit. Together, we'll harness the innate connection between humanity and the natural world, embarking on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
