About me

Hi There, I have worked with clients who have faced many challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem problems, bereavement, relationship problems, work place stress etc as well as help those with ADHD, ASD and other Neurodivergent challenges. I work in a person-centred modality of therapy and I am here for you.

You as the client are at the heart of your own therapy, nobody knows you more than you do and this is validated, accepted and championed within our work together.

I work in accordance to the NCPS & BACP Ethical Frameworks as well as the core principles of Person-Centred Therapy. The therapeutic relationship is cherished, nurtured and respected to the fullest of my proficiency. As part of my practice, I offer psychoeducational sessions on topics that I may help your understanding and boost your self-awareness. Some of them may give you ideas for coping strategies that will work for you.

My practice is about creating a safe, supportive and warm space for you to discuss what is truly impacting you. I will offer you an empathic, sensitive and compassionate disposition to make you feel validated and truly heard. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust, honesty and warmth with a healthy sprinkling of kindness.

What can you expect from our time together?

I offer a free 30 minute assessment session via Google Meet, this will enable us to see if we are a good match. I will also look at some key points of safeguarding and risk assessment in order to keep you safe in my care. If we are both happy to move forward I will get you booked in and we can then start the process together.

From this point I will be there walking beside you as you process what is bothering you and I may offer psychoeducational sessions that match a topic of interest to help you during the therapeutic process. Your sessions can be short-term or long term and I will add in 'check-in sessions' to review our progress and see how you are feeling about our work together so far.

My Specialisms:

Neurodivergence (ADHD/ASD/Dyspraxia etc): Newly recognised and waiting for assessment and those with a diagnosis and wanting to talk about your symptoms.

Premenstrual Disorders (PMDD/ PMS/ PME): Whether you feel you may have a PMD or know someone you love suffers it and it is affecting you, the symptoms can have a great strain on your mental health. As a diagnosed therapist I can empathise and deeply connect to create a unique experience.

Self-Esteem/ Self-Concept challenges: Quite often we can go through life feeling like we've lost sight of who we are. Looking at how you see yourself and where you want to be in life as well as appreciating your positive attributes can really help to explore and love yourself.

Weight Management Problems & Bariatric Surgery: This is an area that I understand is quite unique however, in a previous role within the NHS I typed many letters for bariatric patients where I would notice many struggling with the mental health side of these kinds of surgeries. It's important to speak to somebody if you are considering having bariatric surgery or if you are struggling with the emotional side of obesity. Having personal and professional experience of these I believe I can offer empathic understanding and validate your decision and discuss how you want to change your relationship with food.
