About me

I am a BACP accredited Counsellor, working both in person and online. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore your emotions, raise self-awareness and help strengthen your relationship with yourself and others.

I know that starting therapy can be daunting, and finding the right therapist for you, someone that you are comfortable with, is so important. This page provides a little bit of information about me and my practice, and hopefully will give you an idea of how we can work together.

I offer a free 15-minute phone chat to talk through the process and to see if you feel I would suit your needs. Do get in touch via email and we can arrange a time.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Level 6 Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I abide by the code of ethics of Metanoia Institute, where I trained, and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), of which I am an Individual member.

Gestalt Psychotherapy is a humanistic, relational talking therapy; we work together to explore all, and sometimes difficult, emotions, and to help develop a deeper level of self-awareness and self-compassion.

I have been working in clinical, therapeutic settings since 2018.

I spent two years working in the NHS Well-being services. I specialised in running support groups for those struggling with addictions; with a focus on substance abuse, hoarding and gambling. I use this experience, alongside my empathy, and three years working as a one-on-one practitioner, to support resilience and growth in my clients.

I volunteered with Stonewall on their helpline for two and a half years; this is something that inspired me to train as a therapist. Everyone is welcome in my practice, however, I do also offer limited, low-cost spaces for supporting those in the LGBT+ and GSRD communities.

I have experience as a practitioner in a range of areas, and below are some key examples where I can offer support.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
