About me

Hi - I'm Charlene. I am an Integrative counsellor who offers counselling to adults aged 18 and over.

I value the uniqueness of each person, their experiences, and their needs, and being an integrative counsellor, my approach is tailored to best suit your needs.

My practice is grounded in person-centered counseling and the development of a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. I also integrate the use of Cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify the links between thoughts, behaviors, and feelings.

Alongside private practice, I am involved in the running of a voluntary community-based organisation.

I have experience providing counselling for a range of issues including but not limited to anxiety, health anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and confidence, grief and loss, relationship issues/concerns, and working with parents of children who are awaiting referral/diagnosis/living with additional needs.

Ethics encapsulate my counselling practice. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I can provide face to face, telephone and online counselling. Should you wish to contact me for counselling you can message me on number provided, email or book a call with me. Initial contact will consist of a free 15-minute call exploring what has been going on for you, any questions you may have, how we may work together, and if that feels right. We would then agree to set a suitable time/day to begin sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
