About me

It’s often difficult to take that first step towards asking for help. I would be happy to talk to you about anything you read here, and answer any questions you may have. Please do feel free to call or email me.

You may have been struggling with difficult feelings or symptoms for a while, or life events may have recently left you feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope. Whatever is troubling you, it can help to explore your issues with someone who is trained to work alongside you and who won’t judge you.

Looking for a therapist means you have taken a courageous first step. Life can be hard at times. Seeking help indicates a strength and a determination to thrive, be happy and value your well-being.

I offer a welcoming, confidential, non-judgmental space in which we can explore what is troubling you. I offer a flexible out of hours service and off road parking.

About my work

I am a BACP Registered Counsellor providing professional and friendly counselling in Bourne, Lincolnshire. I offer a completely confidential, professional service that you can trust. I have an empathic, friendly approach which will let us explore your feelings and difficulties together. I believe there are times when we may hit difficulties in navigating life’s journey and that there are hidden or lost parts of ourselves which have a lot to teach us about becoming whole. Counselling is a journey to discover and accept these parts.

I will not judge you or try to influence you in any way in our work together, but I will provide a safe, confidential space for you to explore your personal situation and work through issues which may be affecting your life, relationships or behaviour. I offer both long and short term therapy and will work with you at your own pace.

I’m convinced of the benefits talking therapies can provide to people struggling with difficult life events, relationships and traumatic experiences. I provide a safe and supportive environment where you can feel relaxed and at ease to explore the difficulties you are currently facing.

What to expect from the first session

The quality of our relationship is very important to the success of therapy, so at our first session we can discuss your situation and what you hope to get out of therapy; then we can both see if we feel we can work together. If it doesn’t feel right for you, that’s fine and there is no obligation to commit to any more sessions.

Talking confidentially to someone who is not part of your family circle or friendship group can offer fresh perspective and reflection on your situation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
