About me

I am an experienced psychotherapist working with individuals facing a turning point in their lives, whether it be in their relationships, careers, family life or adjusting to life-changing events such as trauma, loss, bereavement or career change. Or, they may be seeking a deeper meaning and purpose to their lives.

I work in a psychodynamic way, having been trained as an analytical (Jungian) psychologist, but I have developed my own style and approach to therapy, which aims to help people overcome troubling issues, realise their full potential and achieve more satisfying relationships.

Some people may have specific problems that can be worked through in brief psychotherapy, whereas others may need more time to explore underlying trends and patterns, which at times can be hurtful or distressing to oneself or others.

The problems people want help with include:

·  Anxiety
·  Depression
·  Low self-esteem
·  Difficulties at work and/or in concentrating
·  Loss of motivation
·  Feelings of anger
·  Dealing with trauma including childhood trauma
·  Low self-confidence
·  Problems in relationships including abusive relationships
·  Family issues
·  Dealing with loss, separation or bereavement

People seek help for many reasons, some of which are mentioned above. Perhaps these apply to you. Or, you may simply be feeling unfulfilled in your life, thinking there is more unlocked potential in you but unsure how to access it.

While therapy cannot fix every problem, it can help us analyse them creatively and constructively, enabling us to understand how and why we act as we sometimes do, and how this might be preventing us from living our lives more fully and having more satisfying relationships.

By developing a close working alliance with an experienced, professional therapist, it is possible to gradually work through and untangle some of these ‘knots’, allowing personal growth and positive change to occur.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a 1st Class Honours degree (BSc.) in Psychology from the University of London, and received speciliast training at the Jungian Society of Analytical Psychology, as well as in the NHS.

I am a member of the following accrediting organisations: the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC - London), the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP - Zurich), the Society of Analytical Psychology, (SAP - London), and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP - London).

Apart from private practice in London and Rome I have also served in the NHS as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist at CNWL NHS Trust in Brent, London.

Previously I served in senior roles in the world of media and entertainment and have a wide-ranging experience of organisational structures and the demands of corporate cultures.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
