About me

Hello there and thanks for reading my profile. My method and ethos as a therapist and as a person are pretty much the same, and that's to help you unravel and unearth your essence, because it's here where your power lies and it's my job to help you find this part of you and the kind of confidence that comes with it, because you will have it, it's there. And if it means getting to know the day to day issues and the current pains and uncomfortabilities and worries then so be it, because this is still part of the package that's you, your shaping, but it's not necessarily what defines you either, so it's to try and gain a sense of self.

But as well as getting to know your pleasure, in order to find a necessarily tangible life focus, it's getting to know your pain better because yes whilst this might be manifested in anxious and depressive thinking at times, and we do need a deeper understanding and acceptance of this part of ourselves, this might be your guide and teacher at the same time.

Over the last six years and lot of experience with a whole variety of clients, ages and issues, psychotherapy is taking me on a fascinating journey of self discovery so yes we can find better short term solutions if things feel too much, but we can get to something deeper as well, so you'll have less need to get through time cos you'll want to experience it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

My principle training is CBT but the last five years of client work have afforded me a far greater understanding of human behaviour and thinking alike, beyond anything I imagined or anticipated, therefore I do currently lean towards a more mindful-existentialist approach. Therefore, in one sense, you will have tools to take away, but, in another, a calm acknowledgement that you won't necessarily need these going forward.
