About me

Every person and counselling relationship is unique. I strive to attune to each individual with presence and curiosity. I am warm and openminded, and I am committed to being honest because I believe that it is paramount to enabling trust to develop. I meet you as my genuine self, rather than in ‘role’.

We accumulate ways of being in the world that supported us in the past but, perhaps, don’t serve us now. This may be held in our bodies, thoughts, emotions, and the way that we relate to ourself and others. Therapy is a process of exploring this together with a balance of safety and challenge. I have experienced personally and with others how this can facilitate deepening self awareness, processing old wounds, and living more authentically.

I understand it takes real courage to come to counselling, to step into our sensitive inner world with another. The counselling relationship is vital for a person to open and grow and I understand that compatibility is essential. Therefore, I offer a free, 30-minute telephone consultation to mutually explore if this is the right relationship for your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

In the past, I co-facilitated CBT groupwork programmes. I have a first class degree in Person-Centred therapy and have worked in this way in private practice for several years. In 2020, I commenced in depth training in Gestalt psychotherapy which continues to enhance the way that I live and work with growing courage, connection, and awareness. I hope to complete this in 2025. All of my professional - and, indeed, personal - experiences have contributed to who I am and how I work today and enables me to respond with sensitivity to you as a whole person.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I understand it takes courage to come to counselling, to step into our inner world with another. Therefore, I offer a free, 30-minute telephone consultation to mutually explore if ours is the right relationship for your needs. To arrange this, simply call, text, or email.

I generally recommend taking a day or so to digest the consultation before deciding if you would like to go ahead and book in a session. There is no obligation: the counselling relationship is vital for a person to open and grow, and I understand that it needs to feel right.
