Annette Dean MBACP registered counsellor and clinical supervisor
About me
For many people, the most important thing in life is to have healthy relationships, to live in a happy, harmonious environment. However despite our best attempts, many relationships don't work out that way. Some relationships start off really well but lose the momentum and become stale, others wither and die, and some turn toxic. What can be done about this? Most importantly you need time and clarity to think about how you would ideally like your relationships to be. Would you like to replicate what you had in your birth family or would you like the opposite? If you are struggling and you're not sure what to do to improve your home life why not allow yourself to come to counselling and explore your thoughts.
I’m a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor, registered with BACP. My orientation is integrative, which means that I use CBT, psychodynamic and person-centred approaches in my work.
I specialise in couple counselling, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, loneliness, divorce, affairs, anger issues, grief and bereavement, obsessive behaviours, attachment disorders.
How counselling can help
Life can feel very difficult sometimes. Who to turn to? Friends and family aren't always able to give us the time and attention we would like. As a therapeutic counsellor, I can offer you a space where you can share your thoughts without judgement. Together we can explore issues that may be causing you confusion and pain.
If you're struggling with anxiety, depression, a relationship or obsessive behaviours exploring your feelings will help clarify what's important to you.
By listening to you I may be able to offer you a different perspective on your situation which may empower you to find a new way forward.
If you would like to find out more or make an appointment my number is 07732 396940 or you can also email me.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
