About me

Whether experiencing anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, illness, stress, or simply too many life-events happening at once, we can all benefit from talking to someone. Discussing our thoughts can help us to order them and put them into perspective so we feel less generally overwhelmed as a result.

Typically, we don't feel we can approach those closest to us. We may feel they will judge our feelings, or we could cause them to worry, or they may be offended by what we say. In such times we need to talk to someone who isn't involved in our life circumstances and is there just for us.

This is your time to talk about how you feel, without any judgement from me. Using Person Centred therapy as a basis I work with you to understand the source of any issues you are experiencing and then, using tools from the most appropriate therapies we facilitate your re-shaping your life in the direction you would like it to go, whilst finding the new and stronger version of yourself along the way.

Having the right counsellor is the most important part of therapy so I offer a free initial consultation for you to gauge whether you feel we can work together.

I offer traditional face-to-face sessions in a comfortable, risk-assessed room in Wokingham centre or, if you prefer then we can meet online or talk on the phone.  The COVID-19 lockdowns have shown telephone and online counselling to work very well.

Please just contact me via the email button, or call and leave a voicemail. I will respond to you as soon as I am available.  We can arrange a 20 mins chat so you can judge how you feel when talking to me.

We will work session-to-session, agreeing how often and on which dates as we go.  You do not have to commit to a set number of appointments.

I hope this helps and I look forward to hearing from you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
