About me

Are you struggling with overwhelming emotions or circumstances that leave you feeling nervous or overly worried all the time? Perhaps you experience a lack of purpose or enjoyment in everyday life, or you may have suffered a recent loss or bereavement. Whatever you’re experiencing, together, we can explore any issues that might be interfering with your emotional, mental, or physical health, so you can work toward finding healthy perspectives and meaning.

I am a qualified and Accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a member of both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the UK Association for Transactional Analysis, and I abide by their professional codes of Ethics.

I have helped people with anxiety, low mood, low self-confidence, anger, stress, bereavement, depression, grief, and trauma, and can help with issues of self-worth, body image, self-defeating behaviours, loneliness, and life change.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Counselling MNCPS (Acc.) - Level 6
  • Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy – Level 7 (ongoing)
  • 4 years Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy Training
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Advanced Counselling Skills
  • Certificate in Bereavement and Loss
  • Certificate in Trauma-Focused Therapy

Before qualifying as a counsellor, I worked for many years in Creative Industry and have extensive experience of working with people. I have also been a Carer, worked voluntarily for the Alzheimer’s Society, and been a Director and Trustee at a local Healthwatch.

Additionally, I have several years' experience of working as a counsellor with MIND, a mental health charity.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
