About me

Hi, my name is Allanah, I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist who specialises in working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families.

I have a passion for nurturing young minds and offering support through challenging life events towards good mental health and well-being by providing a safe and therapeutic space to enable children, adolescents and young people to tell their own unique stories.

As a parent, carer, or guardian it can be very difficult to see and witness your child, adolescent or young person struggling with their mental health. I can offer my support and guidance through my integrative counselling and psychotherapy practice.

My Approach

I work with an integrative framework that enables me to draw from different therapeutic theories and practices such as a psychodynamic approach, attachment theory and non-directive play therapy, to ensure that each therapy session is unique for every individual client.

The root of my practice is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship offering a person-centred approach to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental, confidential, safe, an empathic space for your child or adolescent and where they can start to make sense of their feelings and experiences.

I offer the opportunity to talk combined with the creative arts including clay, sand, paint, and ink alongside accessing play therapy resources for younger children.

I offer a free introductory chat by phone for parents and carers. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about my therapeutic approach , to speak to me about your child or adolescent’s mental health and the short term or long term support you would require.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
