About me
I am a clinical psychologist based in Worcestershire. I have trained to the doctoral level and have over 10 years of experience working with different conditions. I am specialist in treating:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety and panic attacks.
- Traumatic experiences (e.g., emotional/physical neglect)
- Low self-esteem
- Relational difficulties
- Painful emotions such as shame, humiliation, guilt, and anger
- Physical symptoms commonly known as Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS) (e.g., chronic pain and headaches)
My extensive clinical experience has given me a wealth of experience and understanding about how different forms of mental health problems arise and how to support mental recovery.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a member of the BPS and it's Clinical Psychology Division. I am also registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), which is the regulatory body for Clinical Psychologists in the UK.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
