About me
Hello and welcome. I'm Aga Kaperek, a BACP registered integrative therapist offering counselling to adults and young people in person (in Taunton), online and over the phone.
Taking that first step can be tough if you're feeling uncertain about counselling, but I'm here to support you. If you're wondering how counselling can make a difference or have questions, email or call me.
Integrative therapy means I blend various therapeutic methods to tailor our sessions for you. Together, we will create a safe, confidential space where you can open up without any fear of judgment.
Whatever brought you here – anxiety, depression, challenges, emotional turmoil, or uncertainties – therapy gives you a chance to be heard and supported. We will work together to find the best ways for your journey toward a more joyful and fulfilling life.
We'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences using approaches that resonate with you. Whether it's talking, cognitive tools, mindfulness, or creative expression, we'll discover the strategies that will enable you to overcome difficulties and embrace positive change.
My special interest is in working with neurodivergent clients, particularly Autistic and ADHD diagnosed in adulthood (or still not diagnosed).
In my spare time, I love digging in my garden, foraging in the local woods and exploring the great outdoors with my family. Running helps me clear my head and keeps me in touch with my body. Before training as a counsellor, I worked as an acupressure therapist. I find holding the awareness of the connection between the body and mind very important in my work.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Seeing a counsellor for the first time can cause some anxiety. This is very normal. I offer a brief initial chat over the phone or online to give you an idea of what counselling is and an opportunity to talk about and establish what it is you would like to resolve and to find out if therapy could be helpful for you. We would discuss the suitability for long or short-term therapy and the desired frequency. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have.
More importantly, this initial chat is designed for you to decide if you can work with me. It is important that you feel genuinely happy. I will also be honest if I don't think I am the right counsellor for you. All enquiries will be strictly confidential.
My office is in Albermarle Centre in Albermarle Road, Taunton. There is a free car park nearby (Morrisons for up to 2 hours) I also work online and over the phone. I can speak English and Polish.
