About me

 Feeling Overwhelmed? You're Not Alone.

Are anxiety, depression, trauma, or neurodivergence making everyday life feel like a struggle? Do you feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion? Perhaps you're battling with confidence, navigating past trauma, or trying to manage the complexities of ADHD or autism in a world that often doesn’t understand.

You don’t have to face this alone. Therapy provides a space where you can be heard, understood, and supported in a way that truly makes a difference. Seeking help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a powerful step toward reclaiming control and finding a sense of balance in your life.

Why Work With Me?

As an experienced person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, I specialise in helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and neurodivergence (ADHD & Autism). My approach is tailored to you—acknowledging that no two people experience these challenges in the same way.

I understand that anxiety and depression don’t exist in isolation. They often come hand in hand with stress, past trauma, self-doubt, or feeling misunderstood in a world that feels overwhelming. Whether your struggles stem from childhood experiences, daily life pressures, or internal battles, I provide a compassionate and effective space to explore, understand, and manage your emotions.

What to Expect in Therapy

In my practice, I focus on real conversations that allow you to express yourself without fear of judgment. I tailor my approach to your needs—whether that’s through traditional talk therapy or creative techniques such as art, writing, or alternative forms of expression that may feel more natural.

I create a space where you can safely explore your thoughts, emotions, and struggles at your own pace. My aim is not just to listen, but to help you develop real strategies to manage difficult feelings, improve emotional resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

Why I Get It

Beyond my professional expertise, I understand the weight of anxiety, depression, and trauma because I’ve faced my own challenges. Having personally experienced mental health struggles and the impact of addiction within my family, I know how isolating and overwhelming it can feel. But I also know that with the right support, healing is possible. Therapy changed my life, and I am passionate about helping others experience that same transformation.

How We Can Work Together
I offer face-to-face sessions in a welcoming, safe environment at Learn to Heal Pocklington, York where you can talk freely and find the support you need or i offer online sessions so you can have therapy from the comfort of your own space.  My approach is warm, genuine, and down-to-earth, just real conversations that lead to real change.

You deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice. I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, registered with the BACP.

With extensive experience in the field, I have worked with both young people and adults, providing compassionate and effective therapy for a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and trauma. My work with the Young Person Advisory Service charity in Merseyside allowed me to support individuals through one-on-one counselling and by offering practical guidance to their families.

In addition to my experience in charitable settings, I run my own private practice, where I continue to provide tailored therapeutic support, helping clients navigate their emotional and psychological well-being with a personalised and empathetic approach.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
