About us

34 The Mall Wellbeing Centre is housed in a beautiful Georgian Townhouse on the tree-lined Mall, just a few moments stroll from Newport's busy shops.

We offer a home to a community of wellbeing professionals - Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and other complementary therapists including massage therapists, Reiki, Dance, Yoga and Pilates in our beautiful studio, Sound Therapy, Crystal Healing, Personal Training (both in our small personal gym and in classes) dietary and health coaching and consultation, Chiropractic treatment, Massage, Reflexology, Physiotherapy, Mindfulness and Meditation, group meeting facilities and Counselling Supervision and CPD - and more.

All of our practitioners are fully qualified and insured, and form part of our community of wellbeing professionals here on the beautiful Isle of Wight.

They offer a range of approaches and fee levels, and our aim is to always make access to therapy affordable.

Training, qualifications & experience

34 The Mall is the result of a collaboration between Tim Branson, Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and Roberta McClelland, Ballet Professional who is also training on her Transactional Analysis Masters Degree.

Tim is an ex-NHS Psychological Therapist and Specialist Counsellor now in private practice, and he has Bachelor's Degrees in Integrative Counselling and Psycho-Social Interventions in Psychosis, a Post Graduate Diploma (Advanced Level) in CBT and a Masters Degree in Counselling Supervision. He is Senior Accredited with the BACP, a member of the BABCP and Accredited with the NCPS. Also a fully (4 part) qualified EMDR practitioner. He specialises in Mental Health issues, Anxiety and OCD but has wide experience of over 20 years and thousands of clients with all presenting worries.

Roberta has spent her former life as a Ballet dancer and professional,  holding a Degree in Ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance. Until recently she worked for the RAD as an examiner and writing some of their CPD. She has taught extensively throughout the South and in London and examined world wide. She has a great love for dance and Yoga and is interested in how the body can hold trauma and will be combining her current Transactional Analysis psychotherapy training with movement for therapeutic benefit.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
