About me
Counselling is a very personal experience and it is important that you find the right counsellor for you. I have over 20 years experience of counselling clients, and understand that every one is an individual with a unique life story. My core training is the Person-Centred Approach. This approach is built on a strong relationship of honesty and trust between the client and therapist using the core conditions of empathy, honesty and respect. Through experience and listening to you, I integrative techniques, such as cognitive processing, emotion focused therapy, transactional analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with the client's needs always central to our work. At certain times in our lives we can all have the need for a non-judgemental, supportive, caring person to help us explore our difficult issues. I will not be able to give you answers to your life issues, but I am here to help you explore your difficulties and help you choose the best options for yourself.
I have special interests in perimenopause, and menopause support, as I have myself struggled and witnessed the struggles many women go through. I also consider myself a bereavement specialist, having worked in a hospice for 6 years. I am supporting more and more neurodiverse clients as a later life diagnosis is received, and I am able to offer a safe space to explore these difficulties and challenges and trauma.
Give me a ring or email me and see if you think I am the right counsellor for you!
I have experience with working with both male and female clients in both brief focused therapy and longer term work as required. I work with young adults from the age of 18 upwards.
I am happy to discuss your needs and assist you in finding the right support as and when you need it.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
