Counsellor/Psychotherapist MA. PGrad Dip. MBACP & Supervisor

About me

26 years very skilled & highly professionally qualified counselling & psychotherapy experience. With many  years of very wide experience I am able offer in complete confidentiality short term or longer term work with a very supportive, caring, sensitive approach. I work with individuals within a wide age range & also couples offering sessions with complete confidentiality. Appointments are for one hour & are relaxed & supportive, designed to assist & focus on finding solutions to your stresses, depression, anxieties, worries, concerns & mental health problems...whether those be long held or recent.

Flexible appointment times available to fit with your needs. Currently,  I offer appointments / sessions Monday to Friday,  mornings, afternoons & early evenings also some weekends to suit clients' working needs.  Call me on 01303 891794 or mobile 07799 007108 or email me to enquire & I will speak  to you in complete confidence about receiving support

Face to face sessions are held at Hawkinge & follow Covid requirements. Telephone counselling support is provided in the same manner as face to face sessions, all that is required is that you have a quiet or private space where I can telephone you at a mutually agreed session time.

I work with personal emotional  issues... anxiety , depression. Relationships... personal & family.  Stress & work related stress. Mental health issues.  Bereavement, grief & loss. Break-ups, separation & divorce. Lack of self confidence, motivational needs. Childhood issues, abuse, co-dependancy & attachment behaviour,  miscarriage, postnatal depression, living with  menopause & peri- menopause symptons. & cancer.. Support for carers' & those in recovery from cancer.

As a qualified experienced bereavement & loss counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Support for twenty three years  I have extensive professional  experience working with loss & bereavement whether the loss is experienced through the  death of a loved one,  a still birth, or miscarriage; or maybe traumatic or complicated grief due to a sudden death, an accident or suicide, or from the adjustments of separation & divorce; maybe loss through a break up in family relationships. I offer professional support & understanding for the emotional upset that loss can create.

Working sensitively with clients' who seek solutions & support in relationship issues or wider family matters, or a range of emotional & behavioural issues that can happen within relationships, particularly emotional anxiety, co-dependency, an affair, a new baby, or fertility; also  employment-related stress, anger issues, low self confidence & attachment behaviour I can offer solution focused work.

Individual sessions are for 60 minutes & all sessions are completely confidential and aim to assist & focus in dealing with & finding a way forward with your anxieties, worries & problems.

My work style is described as Integrative - offering the use of several different theoretical approaches. I have found with over 26 years of  professional experience this approach works very well for clients as it provides a wider and very thorough blended source of theoretical support for individual needs.

The most difficult part of seeking help and support from an experienced & professionally trained therapist is making the intial contact. So whether you lack a little confidence or feel shy or anxious about enquiring, rest assured my priority is to establish a gentle, trusting working relationship with you, as research has shown that a "good therapeutic relationship" is the underpinning of any work together.

If you are over 18yrs please feel free to text, telephone or email me  in complete confidence & make that initial contact in order for you to start feeling supported in working towards your personal & mental wellbeing. I look forward to hearing from you... if you've not had previous experience of therapy,  I offer in complete confidentiality  an initial session for you to see how having support might work for you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
