About me

26 years very skilled & highly qualified counselling & psychotherapy experience. I offer a very caring, sensitive & thorough approach. I work with individuals & also couples offering sessions with complete confidentiality. Appointments are for 60 minutes & are relaxed & supportive, designed to assist & focus on finding solutions to your anxieties, worries, concerns or problems, whether those be long held or recent.

Flexible appointment times available to fit with your needs. I offer face to face and telephone appointments / sessions Monday to Friday daytime & four evenings a week also some Saturdays.  Call me on 01303 891794 or mobile 07799 007108 for text contact or email me via this site & I will speak to you as quickly as possible to arrange support for you in complete confidence.

Face to face sessions are held at the Wellness Clinic in central Hawkinge, near Folkestone. The Clinic offers a welcoming private environment that has nearby parking & is on a bus route that runs via Folkestone & Canterbury.

Telephone counselling support is provided in the same manner as face to face sessions, all that's required is that you have a quiet or private space where I can telephone you at a mutually agreed session time and where you can talk in private & in confidence.

CORONA VIRUS: During this changing time in our lives while we cope with the concerns of Covid 19, clients who feel they might not want face to face (socially distanced) sessions are welcome to make contact with me & use instead the telephone counselling/ psychotherapy support that I offer.

I work with all personal anxiety issues, stress & low self esteem work related stress, family relationships, lack of confidence  childhood abuse. I have extensive experience working with bereavement, traumatic grief, ill health & mental health  issues, co-dependancy & attachment behaviour, miscarriage, postnatal depression, divorce & separation & long term illness.

As a qualified experienced bereavement & loss counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Care for twenty two years whether the loss is experienced through death of a loved one, a still birth, or miscarriage; or maybe traumatic grief due to a sudden death, an accident or suicide, or from the adjustments of separation & divorce; maybe loss through a break up in family relationships & other family issues I offer a very gentle, supportive, caring & understanding approach for your well being, also for those with cancer or in recovery

I also work supportively with couples & individuals of all ages seeking relationship support, offering an understanding approach for solution focused work. Working sensitively with clients' seeking guidance in all relationship issues or wider family matters or a range of emotional & behavioural issues that can happen within relationships, particularly emotional anxiety, co-dependency, an affair, a new baby, employment-related stress, anger issues, low self confidence, attachment behaviour, bereavement, loss & trauma & fertility issues.

Individual sessions are for 60 minutes & for couples the initial session is for up to one & a half hours, all sessions are private & completely confidential and designed to assist in focusing on finding a way forward with your issues, worries or problems.

My work style is described as Integrative - offering the use of several different theoretical approaches. I have found with over 26 years of experience this approach works very well for clients whether male or female as it provides a wider and very thorough blended source of theoretical support for individual needs.

The most difficult part of seeking help and support from an experienced & professionally trained therapist is making the intial contact. So whether you are outgoing, or maybe lack a little confidence or feel shy or anxious about enquiring rest assured my priority is to establish a gentle, trusting working relationship with you, as research has shown that a  "good therapeutic relationship" is the underpinning of any work together. Please feel free to email, text me or make that initial 'phone call in order for you to start feeling supported in working towards your personal & mental wellbeing. I look forward to hearing from you...
