I am an experienced BACP accredited practitioner, dedicated to the ethical use of counselling and psychotherapy. This can be offered as a short term or longer term intervention, for the benefit of adults and young people, on a individual or small group basis for people who seek to re-claim and be inspired to find their own purpose and potential.
Castle Counselling offers experienced Counselling and Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy support, in a manner that is personable, professional and confidential.
I have credible experience to bring to my chosen profession with 35 years NHS experience in associated healthcare professions. As a qualified General and Registered Mental Health nurse (RMN) within the NHS, private and voluntary sectors, working at a senior level in the following areas: medical/mental health services, hospices, GP's surgeries and Community Mental Health Teams.
For many years I worked as a Senior Counsellor within a staff support service. Addressing complex individual and organisational issues including: well-being, bullying, harassment, work life balance and trauma.
My practice and training and as a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited counsellor, my work involves working with individuals across a wide age spectrum with diverse needs.
I provide counselling in schools and collages using age appropriate creative means of working. I use Psychotherapeutic and Humanistic principals and value a relational model, incorporating the value of the therapeutic relationship,a means of working together in a non-judgmental way, to assist you in the exploration of problem areas, whilst identifying the impact of thoughts, feelings, actions and behaviours that in is some way may have been hidden for years.
I also integrate the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Transactional Analysis techniques, Hypnotherapy and NLP.
Counselling offers a safe and confidential place to explore the difficulties that you may be experiencing. From this you will be enabled to feel less confused, and more able to make changes, choices or decisions that influence your life.
My own professional journey, has allowed me to gain a credible working knowledge of a breadth of concerns which I am confident I will be able to support you with.
