Sarah Fitzgerald Bsc Hons
I am a fully qualified and experienced integrative therapist who is trained in person centred therapy. I offer a warm, confidential, and accepting environment to talk and truly be heard. Working on an individual basis and tailoring the counselling to suit your needs, allows me to utilise and apply the skills and techniques that are most effective for you. I work in a way that empowers you to develop the skills and the confidence needed to bring about long lasting, positive change.
Perhaps you feel a deep sadness or like you don’t belong? Do you feel consumed by negative thoughts or anxieties that you don’t understand? It can be difficult to participate in life with intrusive thoughts and negative emotional health. This can cause physical symptoms, such as a tight chest, difficulty sleeping or an inability to focus. Maybe you feel like you are worthless and are just presenting a mask to the world; turning up, but never truly experiencing anything in the moment.
I have experience working with clients suffering from a wide range of issues. This includes, but is not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, anger, abuse, PTSD, identity, sexual orientation, profound sadness and despair, frustration, stress at work, OCD, bullying, low self esteem/ confidence issues, miscarriage, relationship issues, serious health conditions/ change.
If you identify with any of the above, you don't have to be alone with this. I offer a free, confidential, no obligation 30 minute consultation where we can discuss your problems in more detail and decide how to move forward. All subsequent sessions are charged at £40 per hour, with concessions available for students/ unemployed/ block bookings.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by the BACP ethical framework for best practice. All work is fully insured.

In addition to working in private practice, I also volunteer and work as a counsellor for a charitable organisation which provides wellbeing support to adults who are, or have encountered difficult life events/ change. I also work with disabled young adults, empowering them to believe in their own abilities and develop independence by exposing them to those things in life that they otherwise would not experience.
I believe in diversity, acceptance, and every persons ability to grow and change from within. My own life events and personal experience prompted my decision to become a psychotherapist. Prior to this, I had a career within financial services but always had a keen interest in people and their stories.
