Counselling can be useful for anyone who wants to explore the way they're thinking or feeling further, as well as anyone experiencing problems or issues they are keen to resolve. CAPTS provides a safe and confidential place where you can talk about your issues that are preventing you from functioning the way you think you should.
The first session is the consultation session which usually last for 50-60 minutes where the type of counselling on offer will be explained, and information collated to start the therapeutic process to either help you reconcile your issues or help you to find ways of coping. Don’t worry if you find it difficult to talk about all your issues during the first session, we could continue to collate information during further sessions, which will last for 50 minutes (minimum 6 sessions).
The type of therapy used will depend on the issues that you are facing and how you would like to address those issues. Together we will decide on a therapy type when we have found out more about you, the way you think and what you are hoping to gain from therapy.
CAPTS also provides couples therapy, telephone therapy, individual and group supervision.
All sessions are confidential, and tailored to meet the clients needs and availability.
