Profile
Hello, my name is Cheryl and I am an Accredited Counsellor,Trainee Counselling Psychologist and Counselling Supervisor. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (B.A.C.P) and British Psychological Society (B.P.S); I am fully insured and supervised. I work face to face and on the telephone with individuals and couples on a short term or long term basis. I work in Heswall on the Wirral; Heswall is 20 minutes from the centre of Chester and Liverpool. I also work from Rodney Street in Central Liverpool. I work one day a week in the N.H.S.
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means that I'm trained in a number of counselling approaches: Person Centred; Psychodynamic and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) I provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore and discuss your concerns and find solutions which are right for you.
I have experience of working with people on a whole range of life experiences and I specialise in the following areas: anger management, depression, anxiety, couple counselling, addictions , low self esteem, bereavement, work based problems.

Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have a Psychology Degree from the University of Nottingham and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Bristol and I am currently training to become a Counselling Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. I am also a qualified Counselling Supervisor.
I have an integrative diploma which means that I have received training in person-centred therapy, C.B.T and psychodynamic therapy. I have also completed a Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming (N.L.P) and attended additional training in:-
Alcohol addiction
Assertiveness
Couple therapy
Stress Management
Sexual abuse and sexual violence
I have an Human Resources background and can also work with clients who are experiencing difficulties in their work place.
I have been working in private practise for 3 years and accept referrals from Employee Assistance Programmes and private individuals and couples. I have experience of N.H.S referrals working with clients face to face and on the telephone who are experiencing anxiety and depression. I have worked with a number of local voluntary agencies and in 3 G.P practises.

Fees
My fees are £35 for individuals and £40 for couples in Heswall and £40 for individuals and £45 for couples from Rodney Street, during the daytime. Slightly higher rates apply for sessions outside 9-5.
