Counsellor Profile

Hello! My name is Bernadette, I would like to tell you a little about myself.
But First - a question!
Do you ever feel invisable?
That your life is going nowhere?
That nobody listens ?
When they do the conversation turns around and before you know it, - its all about them and you have become invisable again?
That no matter what horrors have happened to you, the person listening has always had worse happen to them?

If any of the above rings true then its time that you took the bull by the horns and made space to talk about you and be listened to!
There doesnt have to be a reason - nothing needs to have happened - but sometimes things dont quite feel right and you cant put your finger on it.
We can tallk it through. Once you have found what the 'issue' actually is, you will begin to feel better and begin to live again.
I am a fully qualified and fully insured advanced counsellor and a member of the BACP.
As well as counselling I am also a qualified Life and psychological Coach and Clinical Hypnotherapist and work in such a way that my clients are benifited from each of these areas.
I have worked in many areas of counselling including prisons with young offenders with issues such as Self Harm, relationship issues, sexuality, self worth, self image, abuse, addiction, bereavement and loss.
I work with voluntary organisations such as RASASC and private organisations.
I teach Counselling studies as well as work freelance for a local authority and for private health care companies as a counsellor and therapist. I also work from home in private practice.
I have worked with a BBC radio station as the 'Advice Angel' live on air.

Fees

I offer a private, confidential and friendly environment with parking.
My fees range from:
£25 for trainee counsellors and OAP's
£35 for full paying clients
£50 for Couples (one hour).
The initial first session will include a contract for confidentiality, safety and the outline of how we will work together. We will discuss the amount of sessions that you feel comfortable with.

Extra Information

I have been employed, unemployed, made redundant, made career changes, chose to give up work and nursed my father through a terminal illness as well as caring for my mother.
I have experienced the feeling of depression, darkness and despair with no light at the end of the tunnel.
I have 2 children both have now left home. One has been the reason for my early grey hairs - oh yes, and the weight gain due to comfort eating. Believe me I could go on!

I have learned to 'let go'! I knew that not letting go would eventually lead to my demise.
It took time but I came through the other end.
I realised that we all have to be allowed to make our own mistakes - that's what eventually shapes our future and we have no right to take away the future of another human being.
Gentle guidance, often subliminal was the answer for me.
I am living proof that we can learn to live again. Let me help you to do the same. Call me for a chat and we can take it from there.
Please dont be afraid of leaving a message on my answer phone, I want to assure you that only I have access to the answer machine. I have my mobile with me at all times but leave it on silent when I have a client - please leave me a text message or call me and I will contact you as soon as I can.
