My name is Bonny Flowers. I am a BACP accredited counsellor offering a confidential counselling service to assist you in transforming your life and creating new possibilities for yourself.

I am an experienced highly qualified counsellor with a Ma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I qualified as a counsellor in 1999. My approach is integrative whilst utilising cognitive behavioural and solution focused techniques tailored to suit your needs. Friendly, approachable, positive, practical and open in my approach. My role is to empower you and to help motivate you to explore the cause of your problem, consider what might be stopping you from reaching your full potential and discover what you need to do to become the person you want to be.

I have been qualified as a counsellor for over 13 years working in a variety of settings. Prior to becoming a counsellor I worked as a psychiatric and general nurse for over 12 years. I currently work in a university and have previously worked in several secondary schools in the borough of Enfield. I have my own private practice from which I worked previously in conjunction with the Essex Ambulance Service,and currently with various EAP companies, insurance companies, the NHS and with Link an adoption agency associated with Barnardo's as a trained adoption counsellor. As well as this I work in conjunction with Victim Support as a specialist trauma counsellor counselling clients suffering from complicated grief and post traumatic stress disorder following the death of a loved one.

I have worked with adults and children as a counsellor and a group facilitator for the bereavement service at Whipps Cross Hospital. I also worked for 7 years with the probation service in Essex specializing in working in drug and alcohol counselling.

I also offer Oral Presentation Skills sessions for anyone who needs help with giving presentations. The aim of these sessions are to increase your confidence, self esteem and performance when giving presentations.

Counselling for academic purposes is also available for students. Areas such as organisational skills, motivation and increasing / maintaining focus on academic work are addressed.

I have worked with clients in areas such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, adolescents, children, addiction (drugs/alcohol/gambling), eating disorders, bereavement, family issues and adoption, rape, self harm, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and sexual abuse.

I also have experience of group work in variours settings such as schools, psychiatric hospitals, a bereavement service, the prison service, the probation service and within a university setting.

I currently undertake work for the NHS, private insurance companies and EAP companies.
