About me

Welcome, most people experience social, emotional, or psychological difficulties at some stage in their life which can be very challenging. Talking to someone who is professional but isn't otherwise involved in your life can help you to make sense of your experiences, emotions and feelings.

The benefits of Integrative Psychotherapy

My therapeutic approach is best described as ‘integrative’ and ‘relational’, my priority is in creating a safe therapeutic environment so you can explore aspects of your life that are challenging. Together we are co-creating an environment of trust, collaboration, and mutual respect in order to promote self-reflection, insight, awareness, healing, and growth.

I bring warmth, and compassion to my work, through presence, acceptance, empathy, and understanding; always actively listening to what you say and don’t say and facilitating you in becoming more conscious of the ways you are thinking feeling and being. I work from a position that you are the expert and I will support you in discovering a more authentic and integrated self.

Sometimes our internal world and external reality conflict with one another causing us great distress, therapy offers you a space to explore your emerging self, the parts of you that have been disowned, fragmented, or disallowed. I am interested in how the self is impacted by early relational experiences and develops over the lifespan.

As we are all born and develop within a relational context – “the family” it seems important to explore significant interpersonal relationships and ways of relating so that you can gain a better understanding of how this has shaped your Identity, values, beliefs, and patterns of behaviour.

I believe that we all have the capacity to transcend and survive our early experiences, the quality of the therapeutic relationship is central to the process of change.

I offer short-term and long-term face to face psychotherapy/counselling to adults, to explore various problems/issues which include but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression, loneliness and Isolation
  • Relationship difficulties (Intimacy & Trust)
  • Grief & Loss
  • Life Transitions (Teenage,Adulthood, Midlife)
  • Issues related to Adoption
  • Confidence, Self Esteem & Resilience
  • Trauma (including sexual/emotional abuse, vicarious & inter-generational trauma)
  • Identity issues (Culture, Gender, Sexuality, Disability)
  • Existential and Transpersonal Issues

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained as a Integrative Psychotherapist at Metanoia Institute, London. I have a Clinical Diploma and MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and a full member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I have worked with a culturally diverse client group and with a range of issues including trauma, sexual abuse, early childhood issues, interpersonal issues, attachment and loss, bi-polar disorders, anxiety, depression and work related stress.

I also have extensive experience of working with neurodiverse students in a University context helping them to to find ways of living that are more in harmony with their natural neurological disposition.
