About me

A relationship specialist, I work with couples and individuals who want change.

Individuals can gain more control over their lives, understand their relationship patterns, or to combat anxiety and depression.

I've helped hundreds of couples get through their most difficult times. Whether it’s a breakdown in communication, bitter arguing or infidelity.

Through a combination of talk therapy and home-based exercises I will help you learn ways to manage conflict and reconnect. Or separate, if that’s what you want.

I trained and qualified with Relate, the Institute of Family Therapy and the Tavistock and Portman.

Relationships: It could be broken trust, poor communication, or chronic arguing that brings you here. Maybe you need to express strong emotions following an infidelity, or reconnect with your partner in a healthier way.

Individuals: Many clients feel unable to escape their self-critical voice. Others become immobilised by anxiety or depression. You may want to heal old wounds or develop a more positive sense of yourself. I  will be right alongside you as you make more constructive choices.

At work: Sometimes you need help with problems at work. I hold an MA in organisational consulting so we can also explore any workplace issues and career challenges.

Together will find new insights so you can work things through for yourself, and I readily offer my opinion when needed.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work alongside individuals who want help moving forward with their lives. You may want new tools to silence a self-critical voice, or develop new strategies to handle life's difficulties . Some clients want to heal from the past, others to understand themselves in deeper ways. For couples,  we will engage in a combination of talk therapy and home-based exercises that will help you learn new ways to manage conflict and reconnect. Or separate, if that’s what you want.

Short-term therapy can offer a lifeline to someone caught in a crisis. Other clients want longer-term 1:1 therapy to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.

I trained and qualified with Relate, the Institute of Family Therapy and the Tavistock and Portman.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

In order to move forward we will explore your current world and discover how your past may be influencing your present.

Primarily we will engage in ‘talk therapy’. In our first session I'll learn more about you, what you want to achieve, and you can experience how we work together.

I might suggest a range of tools that you  can practice at home if that is helpful.
