About me
I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and psychosexual therapist. I work with both couples and individuals, in order to help them understand and address problems in their relationships, whether present or past . I offer sessions in both English and Italian.
We all value relationships, be they intimate relationships with a partner, or wider relationships with family and friends. Healthy, happy relationships have a positive impact on so many areas of our lives.
At times, however, it can be difficult to start a relationship or to maintain one. Financial pressure, the demands of work, unexpected crises, issues around intimacy and sex, infidelity, the impact of children or infertility, health matters, ageing, bereavement and depression, cultural differences, as well as our own personal histories and individual narratives, can all affect our capacity to communicate and feel close to the people we love. Sometimes, you might simply be having difficulties in communicating, or experiencing repeated arguments that don’t ever seem to reach a resolution, and where the underlying causes appear far from clear. Even ending a relationship can bring about great anxiety and difficulties.
I offer a safe, respectful and constructive environment to couples and individuals, for them to explore and reflect upon what makes them feel stuck and alone, upon what might be causing their frustration, disappointment and unhappiness. I will seek to open up your capacity to communicate, as well as to stimulate curiosity about yourself, your partner and others. By identifying links between present and past, I can help you understand more about yourself and your partner. Ultimately, my aim is to help you develop creative, positive and happy relationships.
Training, qualifications & experience
Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for Individuals and Couples and Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy - Tavistock Relationships London
I have further training in Mentalization-Based Techniques (MBT) and Couple Therapy for Depression (CTfD) - a time limited interventions of 20 sessions.
I work in private practice online as in North London. I am staff member at Tavistock Relationships.
I am a fully registered member of the BACP and COSRT and I adhere to their code of ethics and confidentiality.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
