About me

I am an Integrative counsellor working in private practice

I am also an Affiliate counsellor for TERC / Vivup / Perkbox / Optima

I can help you by listening carefully to you and by being non-judgemental

Whatever difficulties you are facing, whether within yourself or in your relationships/anxiety and depression, stress or confusion, bereavement or loss, addictions or relationship struggles - I can help you work through these painful emotions, deepen your understanding of yourself, be able to express yourself more effectively and enable you to move towards the change you are seeking. I will help you process your emotions and gain a sense of well-being and resilience.

I can provide a safe space and regardless of what your issue is, I can help you and treat you with respect and kindness and will also build a collaborative therapeutic relationship with you so that you can trust in the process

I have many years of experience with all kinds of difficulties and feel confident that whatever is going on for you, we can find ways to help you feel better, develop coping strategies that will stay with you on your journey of personal development

We can navigate the journey together and by regularly checking that you are managing the sessions well and if there are any bumps in the road we can work them out together.

I do not consider myself the expert in your life and will prioritise and focus on learning as much as possible about you of relevance and what makes you tick, looking at underlying causes of distress as a way of reducing your stress and anxiety, worries and concerns

I am interested and willing to help you find ways of managing your current situation and will explore coping strategies with you and tools and techniques to empower you and help you move forward feeling lighter and more confident in general.

Through this process the aim is for you to gain practical lived experience of change - both within yourself and in your relationships, enabling you to self regulate and set boundaries so that you minimise people pleasing and build on your self esteem and confidence

Your first session will be fact finding and assessing your needs and goals of therapy.

I consider working with my clients to be a privilege and endeavour to help you learn more about yourself and build on your existing strengths so that you can make good decisions about your life and feel lighter in general.

Much can be achieved even in short term counselling so please consider getting in touch to start your journey to improve your life in many ways.

This takes courage and inner strength and you can do it!

If you need any further clarification, that is OK and we can discuss everything before we start the process.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and good luck!

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
