About me

I offer short- and long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, with the aim of creating a safe, open, and collaborative space in which to talk and think about feelings and experiences that might be troubling you, or that you might be struggling to make sense of. My consulting room is in Fitzrovia, a few minutes' walk from Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road Underground stations.

An important idea in psychodynamic psychotherapy is that none of us has a complete picture of why it is we think, feel, and act the way we do. Much of the time this isn’t an issue, but sometimes we can find ourselves feeling distressed or acting in ways we find troubling without really being sure why.

Through encouraging you to share whatever is on your mind and listening non-judgementally, we can work together to try and get a sense of how things outside your awareness might be affecting you. Talking to someone who listens carefully to what you have to say and takes your experience seriously can help you to fill in the gaps in the past and the present, get a clearer sense of why you’re feeling the way you are, and feel more integrated and ready to move forward.

Please get in touch if you would like to ask any questions or arrange an initial consultation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member (MBACP) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In addition to private practice, I work in the NHS as an honorary psychodynamic psychotherapist for Southwark PCMHT at the Maudsley Hospital.

I have an MSc in Psychological Therapies Practice and Research (Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy) from the University of Exeter.

I am currently undertaking further advanced doctoral training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the University of Exeter and the British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPF), leading to accreditation with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).

I abide by both BACP and BPC professional standards and codes of ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
