About me

There can be times and situations in our lives when we are unable to cope and our problems just seem too difficult to manage. Talking with our family and friends can help but sometimes the specific issues we hold are not easily discussed with those we know. This is when professional counselling can help.

My name is Tim Faldon and I am a fully qualified and accredited BACP integrative therapist and clinical supervisor working within Greater Manchester and Cheshire with a private practice based in Wilmslow.  I work with both individuals and couples and offer a non-judgemental, confidential and safe environment to explore the issues that may be causing distress or are having an impact on their relationships with others.

Clients are encouraged to identify and develop their own skills, strengths and resources that could lead to them living more fulfilled and positive lives.

As mentioned above I offer counselling for individuals and couples and I am further qualified in relationship and couple counselling. I have 10 years counselling experience within the NHS in Greater Manchester and also have experience coordinating and teaching diploma level counselling students in a further education college. My practice also includes clinical supervision for qualified and trainee counsellors.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

"Tim helped me to work through some difficult issues at my own pace. He encouraged me to challenge certain ideas that I had and I now feel much more confident in myself and positive about the future."

“Tim is such a warm and engaging person. I felt that I could trust him with so much detail about my life and never felt judged.”

"We came to Tim through a recommendation, feeling that our marriage was over. Tim helped us to identify and work through the problems we had allowed ourselves to cripple our relationship and gain a new insight into our love for each other. We both now feel we are making a fresh start together with a deeper appreciation of ourselves and each other."

“I cannot express how much more positive I feel with my life in such a short space of time.”

“I came in for counselling fearful and nervous. Tim helped me to feel really at ease and able to express myself. I cried buckets but found Tim’s approach so trusting and encouraging, even when thinking and talking about really painful aspects of my life.”

“Tim has a real skill and ability to cut through the veneer and helped me to see more clearly. I felt challenged but Tim enabled me to see hope again in my life.”

“Counselling is not for the faint hearted. Tim really encouraged me to work and challenge myself to beat my depression.I felt enthused after each session to work at my recovery and started to feel proud of what I achieved for the first time in such a long time.”

“I reached such a low point in my relationship this year and my self- esteem was on the floor. If it wasn’t for my counselling sessions I know that I would not have had the strength and will to carry on with life. I now believe that I understand myself so much better and am starting to believe in a future again.”
