About me

Welcome, my name is Suzanne. So how can I help you?  Well together we can explore what is happening for you. I am a straight- talking, open minded and warm person, who can carefully listen to you and look at your issues from your perspective. For our therapy to work, our relationship, me as a person and my years of experience are the key factors enabling me to help you.  My counselling service is flexible and designed to be tailored to your unique situation. I use an integrative approach to counselling.

I have extensive experience of working with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, domestic violence and anger (their own anger or others). I work with depression, stress, illness and berevement. I can help you with your  relationships including partners family and  friends.

Sometimes working holistically with mind and body helps in these areas.

As a former line-manager, I have had over 15 years of experience helping people with workplace stress.  Counselling is different to line management but I have made use of this experience to help clients deal with workplace stress.

I am quite experienced in working with relationships including partners and friends.

We can work together for you to speak openly and to feel heard in a safe and confidential space.

If you would like to find out more and see if we could work together, I offer a free 30 minute consultation which allows you to get a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you and feel more familiar with me before we meet.

Training, qualifications & experience

In addition to my CPCAB Level 4 Counselling qualification, I have a BSc and PhD in Psychology. I hold certificates in Level 1 and 2 Safeguarding for Adults and Children.  CPD Training covering Anxiety, Depression and Anger management.  Online training Suite with the Charity MIND including e.g. Conflict resolution and Equality & Diversity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
