About me

Maybe you’re feeling lost, confused, angry or overwhelmed, or maybe you have no idea how you are actually feeling?

I’m Susan and I am an integrative therapist. My approach is humanistic and relational, and I work with you to make sense of what is going on for you. Counselling isn’t about being told what to do or being “fixed”. It’s about creating a safe space where you feel able to speak openly and honestly.

My own struggles have led me to become a therapist, and I hope that therapy can positively impact your life, as it did mine. I have lived experience of some of the things that bring us to seek therapy, and this, alongside my years of training, qualifies me to work with you and listen to your story without judgement and with both acceptance and warmth.

I’m down to earth and want you to feel safe and comfortable with me, so you feel able to open up and explore the things which have led you to seek therapy. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is key to a successful outcome, so if you’re looking for real human connection, then I might be the right therapist for you.

As a Donor Conceived person myself, I understand the nuances of navigating this journey, so I do specialise in working with other Donor Conceived People.

I know how hard it can be to take the first steps to finding a therapist, so my wish is to make the process as easy as possible for you, and I acknowledge your courage in reaching out. Counselling cannot change your past, but I can help you to make sense of it and start to understand why you might behave in certain ways which you may no longer feel comfortable or happy with.

I offer a free 10-15 minute introductory telephone or video call, so that we can discuss your reasons for wanting counselling, your goals (if you have any, if not, this is something we can work on together) and see if we feel that we’d be a good fit. Please get in touch if you would like to book an introductory call or first session
