About us
Hello and welcome! My name is Susan Alexandra, an intuitive and compassionate Therapist.
My practise is Neuro-affirmative, meaning I am interested in how your sensory processing is doing. This could be because of diagnosed or undiagnosed ADHD or Autism. It could also be connected to hormone issues.
All of those can produce high and what seem like unpredictable anxiety levels and frustration and disappointment that the world seems to be against us.
The Counselling model I use is Transactional Analysis, and a registered member of the BACP. I offer individual Counselling online and in person (with negotiation).
I also have considerable experience in watching sensory processing through mindful awareness, physical practises such as yoga and what can be inner dialogue. It IS possible to get a handle on the chaos and confusion that it seems life throws at us.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken - Oscar Wilde
Often easier said than done. If you are feeling lost or that you have never found your stable core, then you and I can work to this end.
Through exploration, we will discover whether you are dealing with childhood trauma (it’s rare to get away with it completely!) which can impact your ability to deal with relationships and their breakdowns. All of this compromised ability to relate can affect your relationship with yourself, highlighting stress, overwhelm, depression, or other forms of distress.
My approach to therapy primarily involves the use of Transactional Analysis, combined with a strong interest in somatic experience and tension as it appears in the body and nervous system. My experience in Yoga practice, training and teaching makes me curious about the discomforts our past experiences have imprinted in our systems. We can work together to explore how you are seeing the world and investigate more options which might reduce the impact of stress. These may include breathwork, mindfulness and meditation.
We can’t mention sensory processing without thinking about neurodiversity, ADHD and Autism and how that can impact on every aspect of life. I am interested in helping you explore symptoms, whether you are diagnosed or not, and help you accept yourself and your place in our world.
Having recently passed through the menopause with more than a few bumps. I am well-equipped to support you and help you find ways to support yourself.
Bereavement can be complicated, this has especially been the case through the pandemic. We can work with that complexity.
Self-compassion is the single biggest tool we will develop and I am likely to give you homework to help you learn how to soothe your system and feel the genuine impacts of knowing yourself better. In this increasingly digital world, I'm pleased to offer online counselling sessions, allowing you to engage in therapy in a way that's most comfortable and convenient for you.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
