About us
Welcome!
I'm Susan Alexandra, a therapist dedicated to supporting your mental health—wherever you are in life.
I offer face to face counselling for couples and individuals in Dundee and in Kinross-shire. See The Wee Retreat Kinross Facebook page.
You might be:
Trying to figure out your place in the world,
Feeling overwhelmed by life's demands,
Struggling with anxiety or depression,
Facing major life changes and searching for meaning,
I offer a space where you can explore what matters to you.
Anxiety and Depression
Life can just keep happening and pile up in our systems, weighing us down, not being able to think, fearful to make decisions. Therapy can help release the pressure and clarify the path through.
Neuro-Affirmative Therapy
I often focus on how your sensory system processes the world around you. Whether you have diagnosed or undiagnosed ADHD, Autism, or other neurodivergent traits, these can all contribute to anxiety, frustration, and a feeling that the world isn’t built for you.
How I Work
I use Transactional Analysis, a counselling approach that helps us understand how past experiences shape our relationships and sense of self. I also incorporate body awareness techniques—like breathwork, mindfulness, and yoga—to help you manage stress and tension.
If you've experienced childhood trauma, relationship struggles, or major life shifts, therapy can help you rebuild a stronger connection with yourself. We’ll work together to make sense of your emotions and find ways to bring more balance into your life.
Additional Areas of Support
Menopause & hormonal changes throughout life – from personal and professional experience
Understanding your depression and anxiety in a way that helps you move through it
Relationship difficulties - communication, intimacy, love language
Bereavement & loss – especially in situations like the pandemic or where family relationships have been complex
Self-compassion is at the heart of my approach. I may suggest exercises between sessions to help you develop tools for managing emotions and feeling more in control.
I offer online and in-person counselling (in-person options available upon request).
If you're feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to find clarity and confidence.
I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
