About me

Counselling doesn’t have to be due to trauma, a major disaster or tragedy…Sometimes you just need to know somebody cares.

Whatever it may be, if it creates feelings of dissatisfaction, disillusionment or pain, You may hear yourself saying ‘Help’.

Help is the beginning of not giving up, a place where sometimes if we are honest, we all find ourselves. Asking for help permits someone to help you to reveal your own solutions. Because only you knows what is right for you.

I believe that the client always knows what is best for themselves. However, sometimes we all need a little help to find out just what that is.

Counselling is one way of finding out how to heal yourself. Counselling is part of that journey, to finding your solution. I would be privileged to go with you on that journey.

Any therapy starts with the relationship. Our first discussion will be a free initial conversation to see if I am right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I practice as an Integrative counsellor which means I start at a person-centred base, but I am able to blend aspects of other main models of therapy. As a qualified Integrative therapist, I am able to be flexible in my approach to your issues, switching modalities seamlessly. This means that this form of counselling is both adaptive and fluid. I have experience of working with many presenting issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, trauma and other dilemmas.

Yet from wherever we start, it is always you who is the best expert for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
