About me

Each of us experiences being in the world differently.   It is what makes us unique, but it is also what can, at times, make us feel isolated or lost; not knowing how to move forward.

Our sense of who we are can be challenged by many things, from childhood trauma to bereavement; from sexual identity to feelings of low self-worth, or perhaps a desire to ‘know ourselves better’.

Counselling or Psychotherapy can be seen as an investment in you, an investment that has the potential to bring you from a place of crisis or confusion to one of relief. My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space in which this exploration can unfold at your own pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an Existential/Integrative Psychotherapist. My work is informed by Existential philosophy, Psychoanalytic and Humanistic theory. What this means is, alongside my clients, I look to the past, and considerations of the future, for a greater understanding of how we are in the world today.

Having initially trained to Masters level (Integrative Psychotherapy) at Regent's University, London, I furthered my training to obtain an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy, also at Regent's University. I am a member of, and abide by the ethical working practices of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
