About me

Hi,

I'm Stephanie, an integrative therapist practising online via Zoom.

Navigating life can be challenging. Events or circumstances can become overwhelming, leaving us feeling anxious, stuck, or finding it hard to cope. We may long for change but are uncertain about how to move forward.

This is where therapy can help. In my role, I offer a warm and compassionate space allowing you to explore your experiences, uncovering underlying emotions and meanings. The body can play a significant role in processing emotional pain, so I’m here to help you listen deeply to yourself, facilitating a connection not only to your thoughts and feelings but also to your physical experience.

How we have experienced the world so far, our past relationships and our childhood, all shape how we interpret the world today. This is why I work integratively, which means that  I use elements from both the person-centered and psychodynamic approaches. This enables me to work flexibly, tailoring my approach to the needs of each individual. I encourage you to guide the direction and pace of our counselling journey, offering support as you address the issues that matter most to you.

To start a discussion, please email to arrange a free 20-minute telephone or video consultation during which we can talk a little about what's brought you to counselling. I will explain how I work and answer any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

I started my career in acting but chronic health conditions meant I was unable to continue with that path. After taking some time to re-adjust, I undertook the journey to work in counselling and psychotherapy. These experiences mean I can support those who work in this field and any other industry that requires intense performance practice, as well as supporting those who are living with chronic illness and long-term health conditions.

Over the last 7 years, I have worked in various roles supporting adults with their mental health, such as charities, low-cost counselling services and private practice.

  • Post-Graduate Diploma Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy - University of Roehampton
  • Graduate certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling - Goldsmiths University of London

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
