About me
Welcome to my profile. To help you decide if I am the right Counsellor for you I offer a free 20minute phone appointment.
My background training & experience is in Addictions and Relationship Counselling. I work with a integrative approach, which varies from Person Centred, Motivational, Cognitive Behavioural, Systemic and Psychodynamic Theories.
I work currently via Zoom and will be looking to offer face to face Counselling in the near future.
My aim is to offer a safe holding space for you to explore your concerns. My experience offers my ability to adapt to the variety of issues you may bring.
I offer sensitivity to couple's concerns as you may be going around in circles, trying the same things and getting the same results. Asking for help can often feel like a challenge. What I offer is support to explore your concerns to work though the stuck point and re-connect with yourself and partner.
Dealing with Addiction is often challenging and baffling. The substance is often used to manage and cope with life. These ways of coping are ineffective and have negative consequences. This can start to cost , not only financially but also physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
I can't cure Addiction but can offer support if you choose recovery.
When life gets overwhelming you may need a safe space to talk things through. Counselling offers a non-judgemental, supportive environment to explore your concerns. Often this space will allow you to find your own solutions to your life concerns or just some clarity and peace of mind.
Training, qualifications & experience
My background has been working in Residential treatment settings for substance misuse. I have worked with a wide variety of people from all walks of life with a variety of concerns. Mostly with the support of 12-step philosophy.
I have experienced changes that are short of miracles and strongly believe that change is possible, if you are willing to do the ground work. Sometimes the hardest part to changing is admitting you have a problem. As mentioned in the Alcoholics Anonymous, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
Once you seek change you often stop living the problem and start living in the solution. You realise your not alone in your struggle your just human and there is a way out. Fear and shame are often in the way and what keeps you bound. These are sub-conscious drivers that can be overcome.

Further information
Over the last few years, I have worked as a Relationship Counsellor. Offering support to a variety of couples with a variety of issues. Couples are the experts in their relationship, what I offer is support to explore concerns. Couples are often at the point of exhaustion when they ask for help as they have been trying old ways of communicating that are no longer working in the relationship. This impasse is common and can be worked though, collaboratively.
