About me

Hi, I'm Sree, a dedicated therapist committed to fostering a secure and supportive environment for individuals seeking personal growth and healing. At the core of my therapeutic approach are values such as kindness, creativity, and pledge to maintain a non-judgmental space. I firmly believe in the transformative power of the present moment and strive to guide my clients towards a more fulfilling life.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey in the field of mental health began with my interest in psychology, which laid the foundation for my subsequent specialised training. I have focused extensively on assisting individuals in overcoming eating disorders, emphasising the crucial initial steps towards recovery. Additionally, my experience extends to working with survivors of sexual trauma and assault at SARAC, where I provided a safe haven for healing. I've addressed a spectrum of mental health challenges, including depression, phobias, and relationship issues. Complementing my psychological background, I hold a diploma in Yoga and Dance Movement, utilising these holistic approaches to promote well-being. Further, I've supported individuals navigating grief and bereavement processes, incorporating therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

In sessions, my approach is characterised by professionalism and a friendly demeanour. I centre my work around the individual, employing an integrative approach tailored to their unique needs. While I maintain a supportive and empathetic stance, I am not afraid to challenge when necessary for growth. Integrating mindfulness, breathing techniques, psycho education, and insights from neuroscience, I strive to create a comprehensive therapeutic experience.

Being there for someone in their time of need is immensely gratifying. Witnessing the transformative journey of clients and contributing to their healing is a source of deep satisfaction. Recognising the shared human experience in each client, viewing them as reflections of myself, brings a profound sense of connection.

The continuous learning and growth that accompany the therapeutic process, both for the client and myself, are invaluable. Contributing to others' well-being and playing a role in their journey towards a better, more fulfilling life is the essence of what I love about being a therapist. Lastly, knowing that, like myself, others can overcome challenges with the right support is a powerful motivator in my work.
