About me

I am an experienced, accredited Counsellor working in Melton or Woodbridge Suffolk. I offer a space and sensitive support for you to express your difficulties at your own pace. I work with what is important for you in the present and endeavor to support you to gain a fresh perspective through reflecting on, and understanding, yourself and your present situation and experiences.

I have personally witnessed the transforming power that a deeper awareness of body and mind can have and I am passionate about facilitating others in this journey. I aim to facilitate increased awareness of your personal resources and tools that you can use to overcome barriers and move forward in a way that is more rewarding to you.

I am experienced in supporting clients who are:

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I have a particular interest in providing counselling to adults who have an Autism Spectrum Condition.

Having an Autism Spectrum Condition can mean that you think and process information very differently from most people. Processing information including sensory information can feel overloading It can mean that making and maintaining positive relationships is a struggle. It may be difficult to use your strengths and feel valued when others often do not understand your difference. You may be left feeling overloaded, depressed, anxious or isolated.

I aim to communicate with clients in a way that makes use of their processing strengths. I aim to provide clients with the opportunity to feel valued and understood and develop their understanding of themselves. I facilitate clients to develop strategies that enable them to move forward and use and value their strengths.

I have two years of experience in providing one to one counselling to adults who have Autism Spectrum Conditions within a specialist Autism therapy service.

I have more than 20 years of experience in a wide range of settings facilitating adults who have Autism Spectrum Conditions to achieve their goals.

Please contact me if you would like to access counselling or if you would like further information.
