About me

Hi, and a very warm welcome.

I offer a warm and supportive space where clients can bring in their current challenges that is preventing them from living a content life; whether that’s feeling lost, navigating challenges in the present moment, and/or finding a way forward that feels more real and fulfilling. I am passionate about supporting my clients to help them break free from both conscious and unconscious emotional pain that may be holding them back from living a full potential life, as we have all experienced. I believe that within each of us lies the capacity for healing and that even in our darkest moments, as I have seen personally, transformation is possible.

I have worked across a range of clinical and community settings, including the NHS (Talking Therapies), charitable organisations, and private practice.  As a therapist I have worked with clients who had experienced a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and confidence, grief and loss, current and historical traumas, relationship issues amongst others . I am currently completing my doctoral research specialising in narcissistic abuse as part of my psychology training (Prof Doctorate in Counselling Psychology). My therapy work also involves working with clients who have experienced the very complexity of narcissistic abuse within intimate relationships, family, and within the workplace.

My approach is usually integrative using different modalities tailored to your needs, such as psychodynamic therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-centred therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness. Depending on the work that would like to focus on, therapy work can be either short-term or longer-term. I am also a trained EMDR therapist (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) - This type of unique therapy can be used for any type of anxiety, such as public speaking,  as well as other debilitating issues like PTSD. In recent years, research shows that EMDR has been used for all sorts of traumas and psychological issues, no matter how small or big. I am also someone who believes in the connection of mind-body-spirit, and have worked with clients connecting current issues to their 'bigger picture'.

Sessions are 60 mins (£95 per session), and for our first session we will talk about what brought you here, your goals you hope to achieve from therapy, and  any questions you may have.  Therapy work can be short or long-term, whichever works best for you. Here, on Counselling Directory, I also offer a complimentary 30-minute initial online consultation (Zoom) to briefly discuss your needs, and questions, and to see if you feel that we 'fit'.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions - I typically respond within 48 hours.

Many thanks for visiting.

Current and past reviews (verified on TrustPilot /Therapy Simrit Singh/Harley Therapy Platform):

CR: "I am a GP Trainee, and when I first started seeing Simrit, I was off work with burnout, anxiety, and depression. At the time, I was struggling with suicidal thoughts and a very low mood, and it felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Now, after 9 months of therapy with Simrit, I can honestly say that the sessions have been absolutely instrumental in my recovery. From the very beginning, Simrit created a safe and understanding space where I could truly open up. The work we've done together—exploring relationships in my life (both current and historical), examining what is important to me, understanding my identity, and setting boundaries—has been invaluable in helping me heal. I’m now back at work and feel more confident than ever that the changes in my mindset and behaviours will provide a strong and sustainable foundation moving forward. I can talk to Simrit about anything, and she is always non-judgmental, offering both validation and support in ways that have made a huge difference. Simrit’s approach has been nothing short of transformative, I can't quite put into words how grateful I am to have her as a therapist. If you're looking for someone who is truly invested in your well-being and can guide you through difficult times, I highly recommend her".

KT:"I can't recommend Simrit highly enough.  I was dubious about having a therapist but realised that despite reading an array of self-help books, I was still struggling to deal with life, so I took the step to work with a therapist.  Simrit helped me navigate and understand the impact of narcissism and a neglectful upbringing on my life. Growing up in a difficult home environment left me feeling anxious, fearful, always guilty and constantly worrying. Through our sessions, she helped me make sense of my upbringing and how it shaped me as an adult; this has given me the tools to understand how I can learn to enjoy life more and let go of the past.  It is a continuous journey, but I now feel strong enough to deal with what comes my way.  Her compassionate and non-judgmental approach made it easy for me to open up about everything, even the most difficult topics. I always felt heard, understood, and supported".

Mrs. MKS: "Simrit is great! In the last 6 months, she has shown herself to be the most thoughtful, patient, knowledgeable and kind therapist I have found in the last 25 years. And that is how long I have been searching for someone with the ability to make me feel heard AND understood. She helps me problem-solve and seems genuinely eager to help me find the best way for me to help myself."

AS:"I have had sessions with Simrit for a while now, and it has been the most incredible guidance. I've had therapy for years; however, this is the first time I am really noticing differences in my mental health. She is patient and creates a space that is so safe, warm and welcoming. Her guidance is invaluable, but most of all, it's loving and understanding. I could not recommend her highly enough!"

Mrs. SM:"I can completely recommend Simrit Singh. She is so reassuring and empathetic and takes your hand to gently lead you out of the confusion and darkness of anxiety and depression. She has helped me accept my familial relationships are toxic and damaging and that there is nothing to feel guilty about when you walk away. It was one of the hardest things I had to do and she walked with me all the way. Truly one of the best people I've ever met and definitely one of life's guardian angels."

Mr. JG:"I have been working with Simrit Singh and from day one I have been made to feel comfortable with everything I have spoken to her about. Not only will she listen, but she helps so much with how to deal with my narcissistic relationship. In a short amount of time, I have learned so much. I feel that without Simrit, I would still be in a much darker place. I would fully recommend Simrit to anyone dealing with or leaving abusive relationships and especially dealing with narcissistic relationships."

J.H: "A poem for my therapist: I feel like I've known my therapist forever. My burdens become light as a feather. When I have therapy with Simrit Singh, I find wind beneath my wing, lifting me up and no longer down. Time for me to fix my crown. Simrit is a lovely lady with an open heart. I knew she could help me from the start. She pulled me from a very dark place. She saw the pain in my face. She understands me."

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
